Auction: GERT ROTMAN

Here is one of the Netherlands' top competitors in One Loft Races. In recent years, Gert has achieved remarkable success in OLRs.

His achievements include winning the 1st place in the Algarve Great Derby Final in 2015; placing 8th and 13th in the Algarve Great Derby semi-final and final respectively in 2016; winning 1st Ace Pigeon in the Algarve Great Derby in 2018; taking 2nd place in the Algarve Golden semi-final in 2021; and in 2022, winning the Algarve Great Derby Final, the Derby Autostrada (Romania) Final, as well as 1st Ace Pigeon and 1st place in the Super Star (Romania) Final.

Last year, Gert once again featured prominently in OLR results, claiming 1st Ace Pigeon at Costa de la Luz 2024 (against 1,433 pigeons) and 1st Ace Pigeon at Derby Halkidiki 2024 (against 2,105 pigeons). He also finished 9th in the Avi Rings (Slovenia) extra final race, covering a distance of 607 km. Other highlights include 8th Ace Pigeon at Costa del Sol and 1st place in the Avi Rings (Slovenia) Final 2... Winner of 5 OLR finals!

Gert’s ‘Algarve Pair’ has achieved worldwide fame by now; the descendants of this super pair are consistently finishing at the very front of the pack—not only in one-loft races but also in regular competitions—with results such as 2nd National Tulle (4,993 birds), 91st National Issoudun (12,349 birds), 61st National La Souterraine (6,761 birds), and 76th National Gueret (12,208 birds), alongside numerous other top-100 national finishes.

Yet, the descendants of the Algarve Pair are not the only ones populating Gert’s breeding loft; in fact, the stock is built upon three foundational bloodlines: descendants of Henk Simonsz’s famous ‘Moonraker’, descendants of ‘White Sensation’, and descendants of the Algarve Pair.
